Hassan is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Registered Ground Engineering Professional with extensive experience in geotechnical and civil engineering design, construction management, and technical assurance across major infrastructure programmes. He currently leads Costain’s in-house geotechnical design and consultancy capability, overseeing delivery on high-profile energy, water, and transport projects.   Having worked for leading UK consultancies such as Arup and WYG and client organisations including Northern Trains, Hassan has had leading and senior roles throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and design through to construction and handover. He is an experienced technical lead, having led and managed multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex ground engineering schemes, particularly within the rail and highways sectors in the last few years.   Beyond project work, Hassan is an active contributor to the civil engineering profession. He is a Reviewer for the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and will be Costain’s incoming representative on the CIRIA Ground Engineering Advisory Panel in 2026.
