Dan Simpson is a geotechnical engineer and Director of specialist geotechnical consulting company Remedy Geotechnics. Dan has over 22 years’ experience in the construction industry and has worked in both geotechnical contracting and consulting environments. Through his work with Remedy Geotechnics, Dan has delivered complex geotechnical designs for some flagship projects ranging from design of ground anchors as part of the refurbishment of the world’s oldest suspension bridge still carrying road traffic, to some of the largest reinforced soil walls constructed in the UK. In previous roles, Dan has been responsible for leading geotechnical design teams for the world’s largest geotechnical contractor, responsible for the winning and successful execution of numerous geotechnical projects. Dan has developed a depth knowledge of a very wide range of geotechnical processes. Dan is currently a committee member of CEN/TC250/SC7 Task Group D3, representing BSI, working on the development of the second generation Eurocodes and is working on the subgroups for both Reinforced Fill and Soil Nailing, both of which are new subjects being introduced into the second generation Eurocodes.
