Angus MacGregor is a Chartered Engineer, and business manager with 28 years of amassed expertise in construction phase delivery of infrastructure maintenance and renewal projects. Generally in difficult and challenging environments covering the sectors of transportation, extractive industries and energy principally in the scope of ground engineering. Angus’ present role is focused on business pipeline development across all BAM Ritchies service areas; in particular in underground construction projects. BAM Ritchies is the geotechnical division of BAM Nuttall Ltd.
Angus joined Edmund Nuttall in 1998 after graduating from the University of Glasgow with an MEng(Hons) in Civil Engineering with Geology (Angus also completed civil engineering graduate study at Memorial University Newfoundland during his final year). Entering Nuttall’s graduate engineer programme Angus progressed from assistant site engineer to geotechnical engineer on both ground investigation delivery and ground engineering projects. Early career projects involved mainly contaminated land, mine remediation and slope stabilisation. Later career advancement involved delivering many different site based projects deploying industrial rope access; as Project Engineer, then Operations Manager, and then Operations Director. In 2012 returning to BAM Ritchies Angus refocussed on ground engineering as senior geotechnical engineer, site agent and then project manager on slope stabilisation and tunnel remedial schemes followed by a period in Shetland managing a project delivering a high capacity oil rig decommissioning facility comprising large diameter bored piles and high capacity ground anchors. From 2016 to 2020 Angus was departmental manager for ground investigation covering Scotland, then Scotland and the North of England.
Angus is a BAM Mental Health and Well Being Champion, a STEM, ICE and BAM Ambassador, and volunteers for the Scout Association as a youth leader in Scouting.
