Asim Gaba is a Director, Trustee, and Fellow of Arup with more than 35 years of design, commercial and project management experience on major multi-disciplinary international infrastructure projects across: the UK; Europe; the Middle and Far East; Central, South and East Asia; and North America.
He is currently Arup’s Project Director and Leader of a multi-national design joint venture team comprising >750 multi-disciplinary staff for the £4bn Civil Works HS2 Phase I D&B project; acknowledged Arbitrator and Expert Witness; Lead Author of best-selling state of the art design books and more than 30 peer reviewed publications. Asim is also Arup’s Global Skills Leader for Geotechnics and Applied Geology.
Asim graduated from the University of Oxford with first class honours and holds a Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering with distinction from Imperial College, University of London, and a first class honours degree in Law from the University of London.
He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, London; a Fellow of the Geological Society, London; and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Asim currently serves on technical, engineering, professional accreditation and legal committees and boards in the UK and internationally.
