James is currently the Route Asset Manager for the geotechnics, drainage and off-track portfolio of assets for Network Rail’s Western Route. Responsible for the safety, operational capability, condition, performance, renewal and intervention prioritisation of all cuttings, embankments, legacy mining, drainage systems, vegetation and fencing you would see out the train window form Paddington to Penzance! He is a Chartered Geologist with over 16 years of experience in Engineering Geology working for GI contractors, small and large engineering design consultancies and now currently has a client role managing a team of engineers within a large government funded body. He has worked in various areas including highways, rail, utilities and large-scale construction schemes.
