Susan has spent over twenty-eight years working on major infrastructure projects, the last eight in Project Director Roles. Susan gained her degree at the Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh and joined Tarmac working on the Canary Wharf Station on the Jubilee Line and the M6 Widening Jn 20 -21a projects. After transferring to Skanska her projects included HS1 and the Folkestone Tunnel refurbishment project and more recently include Borough Viaduct, Bermondsey Dive Under and the Humber Pipeline Replacement and is currently the Project Director for the Wessex Capacity Upgrade Project. Recently Susan was the lead on the successful HS2 main works tender for the SCS JV.
Susan is a strong advocate of Integrated working in a Collaborative environment. Delivering on a win/win basis underpinned by a best for project ethic. She is passionate about developing people within the industry and believes in leading by example. She deploys interpersonal leadership to ensure an ethical, sustainable delivery and a care for life for those on the projects and the people impacted by it.
Many of the projects Susan has worked on have faced intense opposition from stakeholders and local communities which were mitigated by instilling a sense of local ownership, ensuring those involved felt they had a stake in the projects outcome and all stakeholders were engaged and a part of the final outcome.
Susan is a Chartered Construction Manager and a review panel member for the CIOB.
