Geotechnical Consulting Group/ BGA chair
Kelvin joined Sir Alexander Gibb and Partners after graduation and in 1986 he joined the Geotechnical Consulting Group LLP where he is currently a Senior Partner. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. Recently he became Vice-Chairman of the British Geotechnical Association and he has served on a number of technical committees including CIRIA’s Geotechnical Advisory Panel. Presently he is a Visiting Professor at Imperial College. His background is in advanced numerical analysis particularly soil structure interaction problems. He has extensive experience of developing alternative designs, construction techniques (permanent and temporary works) and sequencing of works to mitigate the effects of construction on adjacent structures and services. Recently he has worked on the design of the Bank Station Upgrade, the Bloomberg development in the City of London, the Nova development in Victoria, developments at Heathrow over existing tunnels and numerous other developments in the urban environment.
