Mark is a chartered civil and geotechnical engineer with 36 years’ experience in ground engineering and geotechnical design. He is currently Lead Engineer at Horizon Nuclear Power where he is responsible for the ground engineering aspects of the proposed Wylfa Newydd Nuclear Power Plant on Anglesey. Mark commenced his career in South Africa where he was engaged on large tailings dam projects. On returning to the UK, he worked for several engineering consultancies on a wide range of schemes across the UK. He established his own engineering consultancy in 1995 which he managed until 2011 when he relocated to New Zealand and then Australia where he was Ground Engineering Lead for a number of major infrastructure and mineral resource related projects. He returned to the UK as Head of Civil Engineering Design at a major renewable energy company before joining Horizon Nuclear Power in 2016. Mark was a member of the team which was successful at the 2017 Ground Engineering Awards, winning the major ground investigation project award for the Wylfa Newydd South Site Ground Investigation.
