Sarah Stallebrass is Professor of Soil Mechanics and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at City University London, where she collaborates with colleagues on research including physical and numerical modelling of construction processes in geotechnical engineering. Her personal expertise is the constitutive modelling and numerical analysis of soils especially stiff clays and recently she has been carrying out fundamental studies on the disaggregation of soil cuttings in slurry. She is a past chairman of the Executive Committee of the British Geotechnical Association.
