Yuli is the chief civil engineer for Tensar, a Division of CMC, the inventor of polymeric soil-strengthening geogrids. Following a year working at the Jubilee Line Extension as a graduate engineer, she moved to Hong Kong where she worked as a geotechnical engineer for 10 years. She then returned to the UK and joined Tensar, where she led their Eastern Hemisphere Design Team for more than a decade. More recently, whilst still involved in high-level project risk management and advice on scheme feasibility studies, she has diverted her focus largely towards educating the industry globally on the benefits of geosynthetics in construction. She is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Permanent Way Institute and the first Civilian Fellow of the Institution of InstRE. Yuli is a past Chair of the ICE Northwest and the current Chair of the British Geotechnical Association.
