Rising Star Award - GE Awards 2020
This is for UK-based geotechnical/geoenvironmental engineers aged 30 and under (on 31 December 2019) who have shown innovative thinking, astute business acumen, made a significant contribution to a project, or demonstrated technical ability through research. Entrants must be able to clearly define their critical input to work in one or more these areas.
They will be judged on all round ability - not only academic and work-related achievements - but also their enthusiasm for geotechnical or geoenvironmental engineering.
Entries should be submitted by either the engineer or their employer and should include a commendation from either a company training officer or a relevant senior engineer and an up to date CV.
- Demonstration of geotechnical knowledge, skill and problem solving
- Passion for geotechnical/geoenvironmental engineering
- Career achievements (further study, papers published or promotions)
Each entry should be supported by a maximum of two images of the entrant, one to be a portrait head and shoulder image; at least one reference and a CV. Entries that are submitted without references and CV risk being disqualified ahead of the judging process. Images should be at least 1MB in size and should not be edited to include details of the category or the name/logo of the company entering. Additional text included in supporting documents will not be used by the judging panel and may result in an entry being invalid
