Health and Safety Award - GE Awards 2020
Candidates for this award must demonstrate an initiative, operations process, innovation or piece of equipment that has clearly contributed to improving health and safety on a ground engineering project, in the last 12 months. The award can be for a company-wide policy that benefits geotechnical operations, an initiative or technique applied to a specific ground engineering project.
Entries must demonstrate how the safety risks associated with the geotechnical element of the work or for the geotechnical workforce were reduced.
- Quantifiable safety improvement that delivers a real step-change in ground engineering rather than bringing company procedures up to general industry standards
- Techniques used to deliver initiative and communicate the new approach
- Demonstration of employee acceptance and involvement in delivery
- Involvement of others in the supply chain and stakeholders
Each entry should be supported by a maximum of two images and one diagram. Images should be at least 1MB in size and should not be edited to include details of the category or the name/logo of the company entering. Additional text (other than diagram annotation) included in supporting documents will not be used by the judging panel. Additional PDF presentations should not be included and may result in an entry being invalid.
