Brownfield Redevelopment Project of the Year - GE Awards 2020
This category is for a contaminated land or brownfield remediation or redevelopment scheme (as a standalone project or part of a larger development) that stands out in terms of its credentials in innovation, quality, sustainability, health and safety and value engineering. Projects entered into this category will have a major focus on contaminated land remediation or specialist geoenvironmental protection as part of a geotechnical scheme, in the last 12 months.
The entrant must explain and provide evidence to demonstrate what exceptional measures were taken to result in the project being delivered above the expected standard. A key element in deciding the winner will be the contribution of the entrant to the overall delivery of a project.
The remedial element of the work must be completed at the time of entry submission.
Key criteria
- Innovative assessment and site characterisation to overcome a significant challenge resulting from past use of the site
- Use of an innovative, new or combination of solutions to remediate the site for future use
- Demonstration of delivery of value and quality for the client
- Efficient and collaborative delivery through close relationships with the client and supply chain
Each entry should be supported by a maximum of two images and one diagram. Images should be at least 1MB in size and should not be edited to include details of the category or the name/logo of the company entering. Additional text (other than diagram annotation) included in supporting documents will not be used by the judging panel. Additional PDF presentations should not be included and may result in an entry being invalid.
