James is a Chartered Geologist with almost 25 years’ experience, specialising in geotechnical asset management, infrastructure risk, and resilience. He has a background in geohazard assessment and ground investigation and has worked on projects including HS2, the Lower Thames Crossing, the rezoning of Christchurch (NZ), and the Weymouth Relief Road. He has contributed to publications on slope hazard assessment, resilience frameworks, innovative geotechnical repairs, inspections and monitoring, and geotechnical data management. James has co-authored several DMRB standards and currently serves on the BSI committee for Ground Investigation. He has contributed to other key industry guidance through CIRIA research projects and other publications through the AGS and ICE.
