Stuart is Technical Leader for Geotechnics for Laing O’Rourke based in their Dartford office. After completing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and a PhD in geotechnical engineering at Imperial College, Stuart has worked on a number of challenging basement and foundation projects located mainly in the Middle East and London for Mott Macdonald and Arup. These have included the new Wembley Stadium, the Exhibition Road Building for the Victoria and Albert Museum and the redevelopment of the Shell Centre building in Waterloo. Stuart is UK representative on the EC7 evolution group for the design of embedded retaining walls and since joining Laing O’Rourke has technical responsibility for all aspects of geotechnical work of the group
