Richard is an Associate at A-squared Studio Engineers. After completing his undergraduate degree and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering he moved into the Civil Engineering field, undertaking a post-doctoral research project on settlement reducing measures around deep basements. He subsequently spent 16 years in academia undertaking research focussed on more reliable methods for assessing ground movements around urban infrastructure such as tunnels, basements and deep shafts. At A-squared Richard is responsible for all aspects of geotechnical work and maintains his research links in order to continue to improve our knowledge and understanding of geotechnical engineering in general.
