Dr Njemile Faustin is a geotechnical engineer with 20 years of experience in both industry and academia. She has been involved in the design and construction of key civil engineering infrastructure, mostly underground, to increase interconnectivity between cities across the UK and Europe. Njemile is an advocate for using sensing technology and digital data processing to develop more informed, sustainable design guidance and has led multidisciplinary teams to help clients deliver on their net zero carbon goals. Notable projects she has worked on include Net Zero Teesside Power, London’s new Elizabeth Line, the UK’s High-Speed 2 line, and Metro Line C in Rome. Njemile is committed to quality and technical excellence and coordinates AECOM’s Global Technical Practice Group for Geotechnical & Ground Engineering. She is also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Community Advisory Board for Productivity. In 2020, Njemile co-founded AECOM’s first employee resource group for Europe, The Ethnic Diversity Network, and is currently serving as Chair. She is also a member of the ICE’s Fairness, Inclusion and Respect Committee.
