A civil engineer with over five decades of experience in project and bid management in the specialised field of geotechnical engineering in nine countries. Currently mentoring University students. through the Ground Forum Undergraduate Mentoring Programme and member of the Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) Sustainability Committee. Recognised by Ground Engineering Magazine (GE) as one of the GE Faces in 2022. Appointed in the panel of judges to select the winner for the GE & New Civil Engineering annual awards 2023. A conscientious and industrious Civil Engineer, with a highly professional approach and wide range of experiences spanning over 50 years in geotechnical engineering in India, UK, Middle East, and the Far East. Key responsibilities have included tendering, bid and project management for major piling projects of up to £30million in the UK & overseas and the provision of administrative support. Managed tender follow-ups, involved in procurement, billing, business development and the launch of new area offices overseas. A vast depth of experience, coupled with a wide spectrum of skills acquired in various countries, culminated in receiving four long-term service awards from Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering. Actively involved in developing the in-house enquiry handling and estimating system SIESTA (Stent Integrated Estimating Application) for all disciplines. Assisted in the development of the Carbon Calculator for piling tenders; trained estimators in using SIESTA and updating resource costs. Successfully tendered and won the £5m piling contract for the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai and fronted the £15m Westfield Shopping Development piling tender in Stratford.
